CALENDAR OF EVENTS
Definition of meeting types and relevant guidelines:
Public Meetings – all members and public are welcome to attend.
General members meeting – for members, with interested members of the public welcome to attend up to 4 meetings to explore and confirm their interest in becoming a member.
‘Members Only’ meetings – basically for members only, however members who are attending may invite a guest to whom the presentation would be of interest and benefit, is known to have some basic understanding of theosophy, and is in harmony with the membership requirements and the general principles of the society. It is also necessary for the member to contact the president (or the meeting convener, in the presidents absence) prior to the meeting so that any issues may be addressed beforehand and that the guest may be received appropriately on the night.
‘Strictly Members Only’ meetings – are strictly for current members only.
A group meditation is held in the Reading Room at 6.55pm for 20 minutes on Tuesdays followed at 7.30pm by the evening meeting in the Main Hall. The opinions expressed in the talks are those of the speakers and not necessarily those of the Theosophical Society in Perth

Aug 18 “God Within You” by Alison Jardine
“I Am” the mastery of love from the Toltec perspective. When we master love we align with the spirit of life passing though us. Thousands of years ago the Toltecs were known throughout Mexico as “women and men of knowledge”.
Aug 25 “Man, His Music and Religion” by Bill Ryntjes
Of all the arts, music is the most available and universal. It springs out of the very speech and soul of a person or a community. It uses the most universal instrument, the human voice, and sounds created by earthly things like catgut, skin, wood and brass. Tonight we will take a short journey thru the history of music and the influence it has had on humanity.

Sept 8 Annual General Meeting (AGM). (Strictly Members Only) A quorum of 25 members is required for this important meeting. Please make an effort to attend so it does not have to be postponed.
Sept 15 “The Mysticism of Nature” by Bill Wood
Based broadly on “The Nature of Mysticism” by C.J. Jinarajadasa this talk will explore the value of human contact with Nature from the time of the early Olympic Games to the big wave surfing of today, but don’t despair, for you can do it with gardening!
Sept 22 “The Rosicrucians” (DVD) by Joe Keen
The Rosicrucian Order (AMORC) is a fraternal organization devoted to the investigation, study and practical application of the Natural Laws that govern the Universe. The purpose of the organization is to enable everyone to live in harmony with the creative forces for the attainment of health, happiness and peace.
Sept 29 “Who Are You, Madame Blavatsky?” (Members Only) facilitated by Skip Pry
This 1991 50 min. DVD drama/documentary is the first Russian film (with English overdubbing) which has appeared regularly on Russian television, on some aspects of the life of H.P.Blavatsky. Produced to try and help vindicate the name and reputation of H.P.B. for the Russian public, as her writings were mainly in English and were long censored by the Communist Party of the day.
Oct 6 “Mediumship and Occultism” (Members Only) by Simon O’Rourke
A brief overview of the history of mediumship in the West and its relationship to Occultism, the effects and dangers of mediumship, and some lessons from the oracles of Greece and Tibet, and the goal of meditation.

FREE PUBLIC LECTURE – “Theosophy & Utopia” By Simon O’Rourke. Manager of Blavatsky Lodge, Sydney
An examination of a progression of theosophical thought through the ages culminating, before the formation of the Theosophical Society, in Thomas Moore’s ‘Utopia” which may be seen as a practical blueprint or plan for the Theosophical Society itself.

Oct 20 “The Elements and the Chain of Being” by Salamah Pope
Tonight’s talk will compare these two sets, their similarities and differences, from Sufi and/or Subud ideas and draw some conclusions about what they show us about being fully human and what they mean in terms of our behaviour.
Oct 27 “The Sacred Depths of Consciousness” by Dr. Dara Tatray - National President of the T.S.
This talk examines some of the latest evidence-based research suggesting that consciousness contains hidden depths, including qualities traditionally attributed to God, such as omnipresence, omnipotence and omniscience. It also provides an overview of the large bank of research into thought transference and other anomalous mental capacities that has been largely ignored by mainstream scientists and academics.
